Provincial Requirements
For Pharmacists
Pharmacists who successfully complete a CCCEP competency mapped accredited program in immunization and injection may apply to their provincial regulatory authority for authorization to administer immunizations and injections.
For Pharmacy Technicians
Authority for Pharmacy Technicians to administer immunizations and injections varies across Canada. Some provincial regulatory bodies currently require Pharmacy Technicians to successfully complete a CCCEP competency mapped accredited program before considering provision of this authority. Successful completion of a Competency Mapped Accredited immunization and injection program for Pharmacy Technicians should not be considered as conferring authority for any task. Pharmacy Technicians should consult with their respective provincial regulatory body in this regard.

Accreditation Review Process
The competency mapped accreditation review process is a two-stage process.
- Stage 1: Regular review for a CCCEP-accredited Continuing Education program.
- Stage 2: Review the extent to which the program addresses the required competencies.
The Stage 1 review process is the process that is used for all new learning activities. The Stage 2 review process examines the content of a program to determine the extent to which it addresses each of the required competencies.
